Walkthrough castaway sims
You should also notice a few chimpanzees on Pier Beach. This will unlock your Social motive. Keep interacting with it to achieve the friend status. When one appears carrying a leaf-covered packet, accept it to complete this goal.
This is the only way that you can obtain a certain part of the treasure map. Easy enough. You should have at least one bed plan at this point. If you do not have a table plan I can't remember if you start with one or not then wait until you do. Book 2, Section 2, Goal 4: Craft a Shirt If you have the materials you need, you can do this at the work bench.
Do this by the Ancient Pier. Wait until you have explored Shipwreck Lagoon before you do this so that you don't have to come back. You will need lots of Energy for this. West Beach to be more specific. This will reveal the Hygiene motive, which is easy to keep in check especially as you progress in the game. Book 1, Section 2: Goal 2: Befriend a Crewmate You went on a pleasure cruise with them and you aren't friends already?
Engage in positive, light-hearted social interaction for a little bit until you achieve the friend status. Book 1, Section 2, Goal 3: Invite Sim to Join Tribe Once that sim is your friend, invite them to your tribe so that you'll be able to control more than one player. Click the switch icon on the bottom of the screen in order to alternate between them. Book 1, Section 2, Goal 4: Find all Crewmates You will meet the rest of your sims in random locations throughout your adventure.
You don't have to put forward any extra effort into finding them. Don't worry. You will come across them. After you have done this, establish a home by building the Home Tiki near your fire pit.
You can assign tasks for your Sims to accomplish while you're not controlling them. Locate the Conch shell as well. It is useful for gathering your sims.
This revelas the Room motive. Locate it and go inside. Obsidian can't be harvested until you have a hammer. You can use a bamboo crafting bench in order to assemble one later.
You'll come across an Ancient Door that you won't be able to unlock yet. Once you're satisfied with what you have done here, head through the Steep Passage. Like with rafting, you are going to need quite a bit of energy to make it through.
You will emerge in the Skull Rock Jungle. Explore the plains until you see the giant chasm. To cross it, you are going to have to build a bridge using 10 Soft Wood, 10 Rope and 25 Bamboo. You can also "Explore" the chasm if you have enough Body attributes. You meet your second missing crew member in the West River Plains. Use the same technique you used to befriend your first crewmate and induct him or her into your tribe.
You can construct a fire pit and Home Tiki here if you wish to assign jobs to each sim. Set it up in an area where there are a lot of chickens. Leave and come back later to see if your labor has paid off. Build a chicken coop to domesticate your new pet. It comes in handy for producing eggs. Book 3, Section 2, Goal 2: Hunt a Boar There are a few boas on Airplane Island but it may be necessary to wait until you've reached the third island before you catch one.
If you find one here, follow it around for a little while. Don't let it leave the area. Do whatever you can to get it to charge you. If you have a large number of attributes in the Body category, you'll be able to defeat it and gather a number of useful resources.
Remember that boars can also be found near gardens or food scraps that you leave around. Book 4, Section 1, Goal 3: Collect an Egg We haven't covered the first two goals yet, but you should just complete this one while you have your chicken coop. Select the "Serenade" prompt on your chickens to coax them into laying eggs.
I don't think there is a limit to how many times you can do this. Harvest them afterwards. Book 4, Section 1, Goal 1: Plant a Crop Hopefully you have been collecting the ashes from fire pits throughout the game. It takes anywhere from ten to twenty minutes. You may need to try different spots if nothing comes up. After you are done here, build a rope bridge to access the East River Plains.
I think you can also proceed through the canyon to get there. This is where you will build a canoe once you obtain the correct resources.
Build your canoe at the Ancient Pier, get into it and select "Explore". You need to have 10 Body attribute points in order to make it there. You will also come across two of your crewmates. Befriend them and coax them into joining your tribe. After you have increased your party size, explore the beach to find the second Llama Person Statue.
Gather your energy and head up to Cliff Trail in order to access the island's jungle. When you first reach Volcano Jungle, head to the tree with the beehive. Using the torch, smoke the bees out in order to obtain a honeycomb.
The Hot Springs can improve your Hygiene as well as your Social motive if there are multiple sims present. When you are finished here, enter the Geyser Plains. If you have obtained every Hieroglyph until this point, you will be able to craft the Hieroglyph Stele from your workbench.
Deck out your cabin with two fancy cabin chairs from the "Plans" menu. Once you have inspected everything here, head back to the Geyser Plains. Proceed to the Ancient Door. You can unlock it if you have obtained all of the hieroglyphics up to this point nine of them. Do what you need to in order to maximize your energy and proceed to explore the Temple of the Llama People. It's in the middle of the temple floor.
Book 5, Section 2, Goal 1: Repair the Cermonial Forge Your sim will need to have at least 5 Body attribute points and 5 Mechanical attribute points in order to fix this.
You can use this machine to craft glass. Head through the interior to the summit of the volcano. The trail is to your right when you enter the area.
You will need quite a bit of energy to be able to climb all the way to the top of the volcano. You will encounter "unknown" plants and trees in all areas of the game. Simply select Identify and your Sim will taste it. If it's non-edible food he will throw up after doing so. Harvest it anyway as everything in the game has a purpose. Start off by making sure you have Banana's in stock.
Give a chimp a banana and your Social Motive unlocks. Use other options with the chimp until you reach the Friend level. That chimp will then gather for you and bring you green packages of supplies.
When a chimp approaches you with a green package, simply choose "Respond" and the chimp will give the package to you while your Sim automatically gives your chimp a banana. This will also serve to complete the "Befriend a chimp" and "Get a chimp to gather for you" goals as well as unlock plans for Chimp of Portent art.
It may not seem as if your chimp gathers much, but remember, the more chimps you befriend, the more chimps you have gathering from you. If you have a crew, the chimps they befriend bring them packages as well! It really adds up! If you happen to miss getting the package from the chimp, search the ground around the area you are in. They tend to drop them if you don't take them. Be sure you pick them up and read them. Some are funny and some may even be from your crewmates.
There's also a Treasure Map piece that will appear randomly in one of them. Once you've read the message you will want to keep the bottle by selecting "Put it away. Smash them open to recover lost shipments of clothing, garden gnomes, etc. So be sure to harvest them whenever you can! They will look like a rock sitting under the water and when you swim over them it will say "Harvest clams. You can then use the R Joystick to move the cursor over the area you wish to go then press X to select it.
You are automatically sent to that location which saves some major travel time! If you want to go to a different island just use the L1 or R1 buttons to shift back and forth between islands on the map. You also complete the "Explore the Jungle" goal. The very first thing you want to do here is to walk straight, pass the big boulder on your right, then pick up the Hieroglyphic piece near the Fireflies.
There are a total of 9 Hieroglyphic pieces throughout the game, and you will need them to access areas later on. Take time to explore the jungle and harvest as many supplies as you can. Get as many vines as you can! Trust me, you're going to need them!! Gather enough supplies to make the axe, return to First Beach and craft the axe at the Crafting Bench, then return to jungle and harvest wood along with all of the other supplies. It really doesn't matter which you do, though the latter would make more sense!
When you harvest Rattan, new clothing plans will unlock. Once you have the Stone Axe all wood you harvest will be Softwood. Stock up now because a lot of these trees will later switch to Hardwood and Softwood becomes scarcer. If you check the Plans section of this guide you will see just how much Softwood is used!
Once you have gathered all you can from this area, move to the top part of the jungle until you see the silver feet and go on to Shipwreck Lagoon. The first order of business here is to walk onto the deck of the ship and retrieve the 2nd Hieroglyphic piece. The only other thing to do here is to gather all you can — including harvesting clams. Now head back the way you came in, only instead of heading right and back to the jungle, head left to Pier Beach.
Now grab the King Loofalava statue from beside the second stone pillar. If you choose to "Inspect" the right pillar you will receive a new goal — to reach other islands. This will also unlock plans for a raft. If you do not yet have all of these items go and gather them. If you have been gathering then the Body skill won't be an issue.
However, if you haven't been building anything, the Mechanical skill level will be. What I usually do is to go around the entire island gathering supplies first. I then build an open shack, Improvised Cot, and Bamboo Spear.
Once that is done, gather all you can from Pier Beach. Then rest up, build your Raft, and select "Explore. Not to worry as some of them will have to wait for the 2nd and 3rd islands! At least one crewmember should be here on this beach. Great them and it will fulfill the "Find a crewmate" goal and unlock plans for the Death Daisy Potion brings a fallen Sim back to life. Your Hygiene Motive will also be unlocked.
For now though you can only swim to bathe, but you can choose different hairstyles and facial hair. You cannot control other Sims until they join your tribe. To do this you have to get your social level with the Sim to around The more points you get the more options there are to choose from.
Once you reach around 25 the option "Special" comes up. When you choose Special it will say "Ask to join tribe. I've never had a Sim tell me no. Once they are a part of your tribe you can then ask them to leave the tribe by following the same steps.
Only this time under Special it will say "Ask to leave tribe. I always find it easiest to get the crewmate to join your tribe right away. Otherwise they sometimes wander off and you have to find them all over again.
Now that that is done you should gather what items you can from this beach. As you wander take note of the boulder sticking out of the rock wall in the small cove to the right of the beach where the Pineapples are. It sits just beside a Soybean bush, and you will need to return to this spot later in the game once you have collected all of the Treasure Map pieces. I then declare this Home. You can build a Home Tiki anywhere you wish and declare it home. It will simply make this one inactive; so don't worry about not being able to do so later.
By doing this now you give yourself and your crewmates a place to fill their motives. If your crewmates don't have that they will die. When they do have it, they will take care of themselves if they are tired, hungry, etc.
It will also let you assign jobs to your Sim. To do this, simply walk up to the Home Tiki and choose Sign up for a job. You can then use L2 to change to another Sim and do the same so they have a job. Then use L2 again to change back to yourself if you wish.
Your other crewmate will carry out their job whether you control them or not. Once this is done I gather all items that I can from the beach then go exploring.
The first thing you will want to do is to go up to the airplane wreckage you see just ahead on your left and put the Airplane Radio into your inventory. If the radio is on, turn it off and it will then let you put it in your inventory.
Make time to befriend these new chimps so they will gather for you. Be sure to harvest Ti Leaves, as they unlock more clothing plans. Here you should be able to harvest Hardwood for the first time. This will unlock plans for the Hardwood Crafting Bench. Be sure to build all Benches as you get the plans for them because they all have their own items and tools.
Harvest everything you can from this area then go into the Dark Cave Look for the cave opening with Silver Feet above it. Since this is not a large area it's very easy to find. First go near the door with the round circle in it it's the only door in the place.
Pick up the 4th Hieroglyphic piece lying to the left of the door. You can inspect the door now if you want, but you will need to return later to open it. Next, go to the pond with the fireflies above it and get the Prince Loofalava statue that sits to the right of the pond. Go around and pick up all of the stones. If you have the tools you need, harvest Obsidian. If not, don't sweat it!
Head to the second pathway to the right of the 3 small ponds. You will see a small path leading up hill with 2 small pillars at the bottom and Silver Feet at the top. Once you've rested just sleep in cave using your Sleeping Mat , explore here next. On the ground slightly to the left of the face is your 5th Hieroglyphic piece. Pick it up. Hug the rock wall and head to the left of the face until you find the clay deposit. Harvest clay. Harvest everything in the area — especially Sisal as you need this to make Rope and Twine.
When you've finished, locate the grassy trail with the Silver Feet above it. It should be just about perfectly opposite the Skull Face. Take this trail to the West River Plains. New Shelters and Farming Tools are also unlocked. I found my 2nd crewmate here. To use the Cheat Gnome, approach it and press X. As soon as you have chosen your character, you will see a cut-scene in which the ship, The Solomon Queen , is shipwrecked. You are lucky and float away on a steamer trunk, away from the burning wreck of the ship.
Another cut-scene follows this, where your character will float ashore and wake up on Felicity Island. Your character will say something and then s he spots a hatchet lying on the ground. Your first task is to pick this up.
Then you must head over the the far right side from sea and dig out the steamer trunk that you floated in on. You can store food in here and write in your diary. This also is added to the Story Rewards tab. Now that you have picked up the steamer trunk, it is in your Inventory. You must place this on the beach, as a small tutorial will explain. It is a good idea to lay it on the hard rock right next to where you found it, but you can put it elsewhere. Here, your character needs a drink, so go to a nearby coconut tree and select 'Drink Coconut Juice'.
After this easy task, shimmy back up the tree to collect more. The camera will now pan around the beach stopping at bits of wood, which you must now chop up. Now go into Barter Mode F2 and click on the Survival tab. Your next goal is to start a fire. Go to the camp fire and select 'Light Fire'.
Then, select the Lean-To and select 'Sleep'. This will trigger another cut-scene, where some monkeys wreck your camp, and end this chapter. Unless you have more than 25 resources, you must chop up some more wood. There is also some bamboo which you may want to pick up, and then you must buy a trash pit. You must then clean up camp by clicking on every single piece of rubbish and then clicking on the trash pit and select 'Light fire'.
Now you must swim in the ocean, to clean off all of the muck. After a while, your Sim decides that they are hungry, and tell you to spear some fish. Go to a shallower part of the ocean, and click here. Then, select 'Spear Fish'. After all of this, you must examine the debris near where you found the bamboo. Your Sim makes this into the base of a raft, and then lay the bamboo over it. This is the end of this chapter.
Click on the acid sand and select 'Dig in Sand'. On your first go, you will find a machete Story reward which allows you to cut through the bamboo blocking the exit. Cut all of the bamboo to make more resources. You can now travel to Broken Wings, where you can find a map which allows immediate travel to-and-through places that you have already been to. Click on the Simian City link.
