Is it right that I do not need to register the software again? Is it right that I have to re-register hardware only? If someone is selling the license only, where do I get the installer or the replacement discs in the shop for the install?

Is it possible to upgrade to future versions legally or is it not possible and I would have to stay with the license I would buy and this would be all?
