The heroes and heroines of all the previous books Club Shadowlands, Dark Citadel, Breaking Free, and Lean on Me all play supporting roles, but new readers won't be lost though, fair warning, Make Me, Sir will likely make you want to run back and read the entire series. Sinclair also introduces some new Doms that made my mouth water. The Shadowlands is all about safe, sane, and consensual BDSM practices the emphasis on this in every book is something I love about the series , but the books themselves are all about gorgeously developed romance, scorchingly erotic love scenes, and snappy dialogue that will keep you reading for hours on end.

Make Me, Sir is a phenomenal new addition to an already extraordinarily entertaining series. I loved Make Me, Sir and, as with all the Masters of the Shadowlands books, I will be reading it again and again and again. Make Me, Sir is a must-read! Good, but Breaking Free remains my favorite. More often then not the sex is gratuitous, the scening is contrived and unrealistic, and the dialog which I find to be key in any story is rarely done well.

That is not the case with Cherise Sinclair. I have to say that I have read nearly all of Cherise Sinclair's books all except for the Starlite one and have enjoyed them all immensely. She is heads and shoulders above the other writers I've come across in this genre. I love the way that she weaves a story and how she develops her characters. I love how we get to see all of these different facets to their relationships. And then, of course, there is the way that she writes the bdsm scenes.

They all have a purpose. They all teach. They all move the story along, rather then inserts of smut for the sake of smut. Even the things that squick or bother me, like puppy play. That is not something that I'm even remotely interested in, but she got me into the character's mindset, made me see why someone else might find it appealing, and I came away from it with a new understanding I read this latest book off and on throughout most of yesterday and last night.

And there were points where I simply couldn't put it down. I was completely enamored by both Gabi and Marcus. I loved their dynamic. When I hit the half-way mark, I was certain that this book was going to be my favorite one by this author. However, it was the resolution or lack thereof of the main plot of the story that made me change my mind on that score and also what kept this story from being 5 stars. While I can understand that it is possible that Ms. Sinclair left several aspects of the plot open so that they could be explored in later books, it left me feeling that everything that Gabi went through was pointless.

I feel that even if she wanted to keep the storyline open for later installments, that it could've been done in other ways. Thereby giving the reader a sense of fulfillment at the conclusion rather than leaving them feeling somewhat empty. It was nice to see not only problems, but the growth and progression of their relationship. And just as before, Cherise Sinclair has set up another dom who could easily have a book done about him. I'm hoping that means that there is more in store for Shadowlands Posting Komentar.
