Pacquiao vs marquez latest news update
Round 4: Prescott swarms at the start of the fourth, landing hard punches and cutting up Alvarado's face. Alvarado has a lot of blood on his face and is just trying to block while Prescott is landing big, hard punches.
Alvarado can do nothing but cover up. He's got blood all over him and Prescott is teeing off. Alvarado did land a left hook that briefly slowed Prescott down, but Prescott is brutalizing him in this round. I wouldn't argue against a round, although I'll stop just short and score it Prescott, Round 5: Alvarado shows a lot of heart here and lands a hard left as the blood continues to drip down his face.
But Prescott comes back from that and lands a combination, then sticks and moves and makes Alvarado chase him. Now Prescott has made the blood start gushing from Alvarado's mouth. A better round for Alvarado, but it still goes to Prescott, Round 6: You've got to hand it to Alvarado for a great round of action, landing some hard uppercuts and not backing away from the inside fighting, but Prescott is the more effective puncher, and the round once again goes to Prescott, Round 7: Alvarado is starting to come back in this fight, and he's landed a couple of good punches and is starting to cause some swelling around Prescott's eyes.
It's amazing, given how beaten up Alvarado's face is, that Alvarado is still in this fight at all, let alone winning a round, but I give this one to Alvarado, Round 8: I'm extremely impressed with the way Alvarado is coming back in this fight, landing many more punches now than he was early on. I don't know where this Alvarado was before, but it's another round for Alvarado, Round 9: A very close and even round in which Alvarado is continuing to show a lot of heart but we're now seeing more of the Prescott we saw early in the fight, landing good shots and landing them quickly.
It's a close one that I'll give to Prescott, Round A big flurry in the first minute of the round and now down goes Prescott! Prescott gets back up and Alvarado is battering him again! And now it's over! Referee Jay Nady steps in to stop the fight! Alvarado wins by 10th round TKO. Timothy Bradley vs Joel Casamayor Round 1: Bradley with a hard right hand just 15 seconds into the first round. A pretty easy round for Bradley, who looks like he's going to cruise in this one.
Bradley, Round 2: Casamayor can barely touch Bradley, and Bradley is hitting Casamayor plenty. Through two rounds this fight is not competitive. Round 3: Bradley is landing about 10 punches for every one Casamayor lands. This is a very, very bad showing by Casamayor, and Bradley isn't even really being tested. Round 4: Just 19 seconds into the fourth round, Casamayor gets a point deducted for holding. The year-old previously said that he is not interested in facing Pacquiao again because he has nothing to prove after his knockout victory, but his former strength and conditioning coach thinks otherwise.
Angel Heredia, who helped Marquez during his fourth fight against Pacquiao, believes the Mexican boxing warrior will change his mind if Pacquiao wins against Mayweather in their upcoming super fight on Cinco de Mayo weekend.
I think so," Heredia sai d when asked if Marquez will consider facing Pacquiao again if his Filipino rival wins against Mayweather. It's a tremendous fight, and everyone would want to see it. However, trainer Nacho Beristain reiterated that Pacquiao is not waiting for anyone because he has already ended his rivalry with Pacquiao and was defeated convincingly by Mayweather. History has been closed. The greatest boxing country in history--past, present and future--gave a proper tribute to the world's pound for pound best fighter.
Sympatico, that's what the Mexican public has become when it comes to Pacquiao, sympatico. Roach declared at the Los Angeles stop of the media tour of third Pacquiao-Marquez fight scheduled for November 12 that he wants his prized Filipino boxer to knock out Marquez to finally stop talk that the Mexican was robbed in their two previous encounters. The renowned trainer said that Pacquiao took offense with that Marquez antic shortly after the Mexican boxer lost his World Boxing Council lightweight title in to the Filipino boxing king.
Pacquiao will defend his World Boxing Organization welterweight title pounds against Marquez, a unified world lightweight champ, who is going up in weight for the title fight at an agreed weight of pounds. Settling the score Arum observed that Pacquiao usually waits until the last minute to start his eight weeks of training.
You know what I mean? My opponent is not a good boy….. In their first fight in at featherweight, Pacquiao knocked Marquez down three times in the first round but Marquez came back to salvage a draw. Four years later, Pacquiao won the junior lightweight title by split decision — the victory swayed by a left hook to the chin in the third that sent Marquez to the canvas.
But what seemed to get the ire of the kind-hearted Pacquiao was Marquez confronting him during a boxing card in the Philippines demanding a quick rematch. He took it easy in the final rounds against badly beaten foe Margarito last year.
Global tour to promote the final chapter of a historic trilogy between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez found its way to the City of Angeles where media only press conference was held at the opulent Beverly Hills Hotel earlier today.
Top pound for pound pugilist, Manny Pacquiao will defend his WBO welterweight title against his long time rival, undisputed lightweight champion, Juan Manuel Marquez. I improved a lot on my style and I will do my best for the happiness of the people. It seems like their third encounter is getting personal. The last few times he has fought, Pacquiao has been very friendly with his foes to the extent that he has been oftentimes criticized for being too nice to them.
But with Marquez, the feeling is not all too the same and the sentiment is that the lid will blow over when they let loose their furious fists at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in two months time. One could easily count the times when Pacquiao and Marquez shook hands and during their third face-off at the Beverly Hills Hotel, they only got to shake hands once and they did it without even looking each other in the eye.
In the Philippines over the weekend, Marquez regaled the media, saying that while he remains bitter over the result of their first two fights, he has grown to respect the man many regard as worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as Joe Louis and Muhammad Ali.
From what they have exhibited the last couple of days, Marquez and Pacquiao have been frugal in showering each other with praises and it remains to be seen whether Marquez will revert back to being a diplomat when the tour makes its fourth and last stop in Mexico City on Thursday. The last time Pacquiao acted unreceptive was against the brash Erik Morales and that was five years ago. That feeling of hatred is back again, said Pacquiao lawyer Franklin Gacal, who has been told many times by the pound-for-pound king about his animosity towards Marquez.
